Born in old Kolar District on 9th March 1945. Graduated in M.B.B.S, acquired DPH (Kolkata), MD, DHA, PGDHM, FIPHA. Served 33 years, in Karnataka Government Health and Family Welfare Services, as Medical officer, Deputy Director, Joint Director, Additional Director, Project Director and retired as Director of Health and RCH Services and Director of State Institute of Health and Family Welfare. Done credible work in Planning, RCH, Public Health and Training
- Chief Architect of Poliomyelitis eradication in the state till 2003. Worked as Chief Consultant, World Bank Projects.
- Honored with ‘B.C. ROY Award’ and ‘Fellow ‘of IPHA. Served in Corporate companies, as Advisor--Health domain, PwC, Deloitte, & Ernst & Young. Also was a ‘Think-Tank’ for these agencies. Served as Associate Professor in community Health, Siddhartha Medical College, Tumakuru, and MVJ, medical College, Hosakote
- Served as Adjunct Professor in IHMR, Bengaluru from 2003 till 2007. Served as ‘Team Leader’ for conducting various evaluation studies. Presently a Resource faculty in International health for PGDM (AICTE) @ ISBR, Electronic city, Bangalore-Both online and Physical
